On April 15th, 2009, a legendary bill was signed into law in the state of Montana. The law's short title is the Montana Firearms Freedom Act and sets a new president for state gun law. In short, it provides that any firearm, firearm accessory, and/or ammunition manufactured in Montana is exempt from registration and buyees from going through a background check.
I'm sure we all can sense the drastic step that this state has taken toward governing themselves. It will be interesting to see the steps our federal government will take to counter this bold move by Montana. I will do my best to keep you updated as new developments occur.

Buying A Gun and more...

Be Patient!
It's easy to rush into the first gun shop or gun show you find and walk out after buying on impulse. This happened to me personally when I turned 21. I ran out the door with only $140 on my first handgun. If you don't already know, this is hardly enough to bring home a fine handgun. I set my sights on the only gun my funds could secure, a .22 caliber Pheonix Arms HP22. I had no idea this is a common "Saturday Night Special" or "junk gun", but I would soon find out. After firing just over 200 rounds through it, the magazine release popped out of the left side of the gun, losing the spring encased inside.
If I had been patient and just double the amount of money I was willing to invest I would have been able to come away with a durable and reliable (used) pistol like a Smith & Wesson Sigma or a Stoeger Cougar or countless revolvers from dozens of manufacturers.
